MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard protocol that allows AI assistants to access external data sources. With MCP, you can integrate Brick Directory directly into Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI assistants.
Follow our detailed setup guide: MCP Setup Guide
The basic steps are:
MCP is supported by:
MCP allows you to use your preferred AI assistant with Brick Directory data, giving you more flexibility and control. You can combine LEGO data with other knowledge sources and workflows as well as other MCP servers. For example, you can ask your AI assistant to read the list of your sets from Google Drive and then ask for more information about those sets.
Follow our MCP Setup Guide for detailed instructions. You’ll authenticate via your browser using Google or Facebook OAuth, and Claude Desktop will automatically receive the necessary credentials.
Yes! You can manage your connected MCP clients in your account settings. Revoking a client will immediately prevent it from accessing your Brick Directory account. Note that the account-based client management UI will be available in a future update.
Absolutely. MCP client authentication uses industry-standard OAuth2 with client credentials stored encrypted in our database. All API requests are authenticated with JWT tokens, and you maintain full control over which clients have access to your account.
